The company explains its position by saying that pasta is not a sanctioned product. The sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia do not prohibit the export of essential products. Regarding the industrial presence in Russia, it should be recalled that Barilla built its plant in Sonyachnogorsk in 2012. The occupation of Crimea took place two years later, in 2014. Investments have already been started, work has been completed, production has been launched.
