Bunge Ltd. sold its sunflower-crushing plant in Russia, marking the biggest oilseed processor’s exit from the country in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Bunge sold LLC "BUNGE CIS" (IN 7743084941). The sale took place in 2022, but the transaction finally ended on February 13, 2023. Agricultural baron Vanetsyan became the new owner. In 2023, Mr. Vanetsyan's Exoil Group acquired the assets of the American company Bunge in Russia, including the Oleina sunflower oil brand. Notably, Bunge left the Russian market following the onset of the full-scale invasion. Russia systematically targets American business, repeatedly strikes at Bunge plant in Dnipro - MFA.

A major food producer, EFKO Group, has managed to obtain permission from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to buy out Maslenitsa LLC, a former subsidiary of the American Bunge, from Exoil Group.
