China is preparing a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal to handle cargoes from Russia’s U.S.-sanctioned Arctic LNG-2 project, offering Moscow another market for exports from the flagship venture. The terminal is operated by PipeChina, China’s state-owned pipeline company, which also operates the Beihai LNG terminal, which will receive Arctic LNG 2 cargoes from August 2025.
