The International Judo Federation is the international governing body for judo, founded in July 1951. The IJF was originally composed of judo federations from Europe and Argentina. Countries from four continents were affiliated over the next ten years. Today the IJF has 200 National Federations on all continents.

Vladimir Putin and Arkady Rotenberg have been removed from all positions held in the IJF. All IJF sanctioned judo competitions have been canceled in Russia. Russian athletes can compete at IJF events under the IJF flag, logo, and anthem. The IJF Executive Committee has decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in IJF events as individual neutral athletes. IJF bans spectators wearing Russian military symbol at World Judo Championships.
