IMF to send first mission to Russia since Ukraine invasion. Sanctioned Russian Central Banker named to IMF's Board. Nine European countries protested against IMF resuming missions to Russia. The International Monetary Fund has postponed its planned consultation mission with Russia indefinitely because of technical issues, TASS agency cited Alexei Mozhin, Russia's director at the IMF, as saying on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Former Deputy Head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Ksenia Yudaeva, who is under US sanctions, represents Russia in person at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The agency reports that the US Treasury Department gave her permission to work.
