Business in Russia

Leica Geosystems is part of Hexagon AB and ceased all business activities in Russia in February 2022 following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The company have gone out of our way to leave Russia and Leica Geosystems’ and its official distribution partners have suspended all exports of hardware and software licenses to Russia. Leica Geosystems is proactively addressing diversion risks and works together with its official distribution partners to ensure compliance with the policies and all export regulations. Also, Leica Geosystems has taken multiple measures to prevent the supply of products to Russia but cannot rule out the possibility that there may nevertheless be unlawful or illegal exports to Russia from unofficial channels.

Received revenues in Russia in 2021-2022, promised to suspend all business with Russia. Hexagon has taken the decision to freeze all business activities in Russia. As previously communicated, Hexagon has already suspended all exports of hardware and software licenses to Russia and is now taking further steps to adapt to the current business situation. The catalog on the website of the RusgeoCom store lists 16 Leica total stations, five of which are in stock. According to customs data, in August 2022, this company purchased Leica Geosystems AG equipment through the Chinese intermediary Shanghai Merrypal Import Export Co. Ltd. "RusGeoCom" is a major supplier of power structures and the Ministry of Defense. The company concluded more than 114 state contracts worth 280.524 million rubles, three of which were concluded with the Ministry of Defense for the supply of geodetic instruments. In 2023 revenue of the local company "HEXAGON GEOSYSTEMS RUS" LLC (tax id 7717626771) dropped to 0 as result of steps done.
