The company was formerly known as WorldVu Satellites Ltd.

Called off a March 4 launch of 36 satellites on one of Russia's Soyuz rockets due to Russian demands that none of the satellites would not be used for military purposes and the UK had to sell their stake in OneWeb. OneWeb has since partnered with SpaceX for future launches.
