Rejects payments using Russian credit cards. Sony refused to open a PS Store game store in Kazakhstan due to Russian access. The Russians demanded 3 billion rubles for disconnecting from the PlayStation Store. EU Eyes Ban on Xbox, PlayStation Sales to Russia. Sony decided to leave Russia after its invasion of Ukraine and was among the first to support sanctions. In March 2022, console deliveries were stopped and the PlayStation Store was closed.
