Austrian construction group Strabag set out details of a planned capital reduction in its latest step aimed at decreasing the stake held by a company belonging to sanctioned Russian shareholder Oleg Deripaska. Shareholders of Austrian engineering company Strabag have withdrawn an arbitration award against a Cypriot company linked to Oleg Deripaska that is under sanctions, citing the threat of a billion-euro fine from Russia if the case continues.

Raiffeisen abandoned the deal with Deripaska after US pressure. Revenue significantly (by more than -70%) decreased in 2024 vs 2023. The EU made the right choice when it rejected Austria's request to unfreeze a €2 billion stake in Austrian company Strabag, a holding company owned by Rasperia Trading, a Russian investment firm linked to sanctioned oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
