The Michelin Group
Also known as: Michelin Tire; Michelin
LeaveRussia detail: Exit Completed
Michelin is the second largest tyre manufacturer in the world behind Bridgestone and larger than both Goodyear and Continental.
Business in Russia
Michelin announced its intention to transfer its activities in Russia to local management by the end of 2022. Despite exit, Michelin tires were identified on Russian military vehicles and brand new Citroen C5 Aircross rolling off the assembly line in Kaluga in Russia is coming with Michelin tires. Customs documents show that Russia continues to use intermediary companies, including one apparently based in the UK, to import aircraft tires from French firm Michelin, despite attempts to stop the trade. In 2023, Michelin received $28 million worth of tires, despite the company having halted all exports to Russia since March 2022 following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
