Decision trail

Decision date 14/06/2022 · Reference ↗

The Biosphere Corporation, one of the largest in Ukraine on the household goods market, in the very first days of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine decided to terminate all business relations on the markets of the Russian Federation and Belarus. In addition, Biosphere announced the termination of licenses in Russia for the use of the trademarks "Bonus", "Freken BOK", Lady Cotton, Novita, "Freshberry", Vortex, Smile. It also banned the use of the name "Biosphere Corporation" and its logo in Russia. However, the Biosphere Corporation, which has many well-known brands in its portfolio, constantly faces unfair competition in terms of copying the design of product packaging even in Ukraine. As for Russia, unfortunately, there are currently no legal mechanisms for Ukrainian companies to regulate such situations. The production of the brands (Freken BOK) in Russia was to be completely stopped on May 30, and by June 15, 2022 all stocks were to be sold and work with these trademarks was planned to be completely stopped.
