Decision trail

Decision date 01/03/2022 · Reference ↗

Statement condemning Russia and Belarus for the invasion of Ukraine. Both countries teams are suspended from competition and UCI sanctioned international events, stripped of UCI team status, and will not be considered for bids. Removed Russian and Belarusian National Championships from UCI calendar. Any participation of Russian or Belarusian athletes must be in a neutral capacity. The International Cyclists' Union (UCI) has banned Russian cyclists of the CSKA team from participating in competitions following their participation in the 'Tour Faso' race. These decisions were made because the cyclists represented CSKA, which contradicts UCI rules. The CSKA team includes several athletes as well as team members who have been included in the 'blacklist'. They are now banned from participating in further UCI competitions.
