Natixis is one of the largest French corporate and investment banks. It was created by the merger of Natexis Banque Populaire (Banque Populaire group) and IXIS (Caisse d’Epargne group) on October 17, 2006. These two main shareholders accounted for more than 70% of the shares, while the rest were in free float on the Paris Stock Exchange.
