Roskomnadzor has officially blocked the popular Internet speed test service Speedtest, explaining this by "threats to the security of the Russian Internet." The American Speedtest service from Ookla, which was used more than 50 billion times in 2023, is no longer available in Russia. State Duma member Anton Nemkin claims that the service collected technical information about Russian networks that could be of interest to special services. We also recall that the developer of Speedtest was previously fined for refusing to localize the personal data of Russian users.
