Salamander Industrie-Produkte GmbH, a mainly family-owned company based in Türkheim/Unterallgäu (Germany), has five strong business fields. Salamander SPS is the world's oldest, largest and foremost manufacturer of high-quality bonded leathers used, among other applications, in the shoe, furniture, leather goods and packing industries.
Business in Russia
Only from the beginning of 2023, the Russian company "Faraday" bought leather and other goods from the Italian company Conceria Cervinia Spa for 1.7 million dollars, the German company Jakob Keck Chemie Gmbh for 300 thousand dollars and Salamander Sps Gmbh & Co.Kg for 80 thousands of dollars. According to the ImportGenius database, deliveries were made in February 2022 and during the war. Supplies the Russian armed forces.

As The Insider found out, Donobuv also supplied the armed forces with shoe glue and solvents (supplied by Jakob KECK Chemie GmbH) and leather (supplied by Salamander SPS GmbH & Co. KG) from Germany, while the soles are imported from Italy (Tacchificio Campiglionese). Salamander also sold leather to another Defense Ministry contractor – Faraday (also spelt “Faradei”) – during the war. To underline Salamander's clear and unequivocal positioning on the side of Ukraine, and notwithstanding the aforementioned arguments, it has been decided to immediately stop deliveries to the two customers concerned, and furthermore, to discontinue all other business in Russia and Belarus. The German brand Salamander in the Russian Federation and in some markets was bought by the Munz Group.
