Sony Music Entertainment, also known as simply Sony Music, is an American multinational music company. Being owned by the parent conglomerate Sony Group Corporation, it is part of the Sony Music Group, which is owned by Sony Entertainment and managed by the American umbrella division of Sony.

The structures of the former top managers of Warner Music Russia bought the Kiss Koala label, which manages the local catalog of Sony Music that left Russia. As a result of the merger, a new distributor appeared on the market, which will compete with Zvonko Group and Believe. The presence of another major player in the segment will help artists increase their income, experts expect. Sony Music has ceased operations in Russia, with its final exit taking place on September 8, 2022: foreign catalogues were removed from Russian streaming services, and the local division became an independent label called Kiss Koala, later renamed Koala Music.
