Business in Russia

The World Bank (WB) said it had suspended all its programs in Russia and Belarus due to "hostile actions against the Ukrainian people." The Ministry of Economic Development has begun to gather a pool of potential Russian participants in the World Bank GovTech forum in Washington on the digitalization of the public sector. The event, which has been without participants from Russia for the past two years, will be held at the end of May 2025.

Stopped their programs in Russia and Belarus (programs were not implemented also in 2014-2020). Russia will start representing Belarus' interests in the World Bank (WB) next month (since November 2024). In March 2022, at the request of the West, the WB announced the suspension of all its programs in Belarus due to the situation around Ukraine. The WB has not provided new loans to Minsk since mid-2020.
