As a European supplier with production located in Germany VARTA neither source nor produce essential raw materials, complete products or small components for products or packaging in Russia. The company also do not have any business relations to Russia and decided to terminate its Russian VARTA business completely, with the local team closing all operations from summer 2022. The local company's was liquidated on August 8, 2023. Already at the point of the beginning of July 2023 all Russian product certificates became invalid.
